Blue, Red,

And Dead

When It's Too Close To Call,
But Not Too Close To Kill

Blue, Red, and Dead is a story spawned more than two decades ago in the vortex of the Bush v. Gore election and then again in the elections that have followed.  It centers on one of the most foundational checks and balances of American democracy – the Electoral College, the brainchild of our founding fathers.

But what if it fails? What if there is total deadlock?  Then what?  How does it work in a world where corruption, deception and even worse is the order of the day?  Blue, Red, and Dead which originally centered around a female Vice President who is selected to run for office when the sitting President mysteriously chooses not to run for a second term, addresses what, how and why of such a constitutional crisis in a legally accurate  spy – mystery, action- packed  suspense thriller.

The story has been effectively updated to sync with the election of November 5, 2024 – the date of the release of Blue Red, and Dead. It will play very much in tune with the tenor of future elections as well.  Likely, not much will change.  And as nations and cultures continue to clash and as armed conflict and political turmoil remain incessant, comment in the form of creative story telling about these events will endure. Hopefully the lessons and observations of thoughtful critics, skeptics, philosophers and moralists will better help us understand the hot mess we are in and lead to a sense of hope and even inspiration in our time.  That is what writers do.  In every book there is a message and a purpose.  They may provoke the reader to anger, trigger tears, cause joy, or maybe all the above.   But most of all they cause the reader to see what the writer sees in an almost sacred joinder for a new or different point of view.  When the reader is well- entertained, the writer is well- understood.  Hence, there is room for Timothy Burton Anderson who has had a great career as a lawyer and  has built  a loving family to once again give it a shot as a novelist.

This year, Blue, Red, and Dead. Soon to come, a story about Vladimir Putin in America in 1992 at the little known and super-secret Battle at Hurricane Mesa. You won’t want to miss that one. Absolutely not!  And this is only the re- beginning of Tim Anderson. Stay tuned.
